Swara Bhasker Says ‘No Ventilator In India’s Capital’; Kusha Kapila SLAMS Black Marketing Of COVID Drugs: ‘Who Do We Hold Accountable?’
The second wave of COVID-19 is upon us, and with the number of Coronavirus cases surging by the hour, the health infrastructure and medical system is struggling to keep up. Amid the strain on medical resources, and shortage in supplies of oxygen cylinders and drugs such as Remdesivir and Tocilizumab, black marketing of COVID drugs have become matters of serious concern. Kusha Kapila, who was looking for leads to find Tocilizumab, was shocked to find out that it was being sold in the black market for a staggering amount. Meanwhile, Swara Bhasker tweeted about there being no ventilator in Delhi.

Two days ago, Kusha Kapila had tweeted, “My uncle urgently requires two doses of Tocilzumab injection. He is 68 years old and is critical. Kindly amplify.” She then tweeted that despite of 3000 retweets, she was unable to find a lead. “I can't imagine what people without twitter accounts are going through,” she wrote. Yesterday, in another tweet, she wrote that she was shocked to find out that one dose of Tocilizumab is available for Rs 2,20,000 in the black market in Delhi. “just received a tip that Tocilizumab is available for INR 2,20,000 today in the black market in Delhi. FOR ONE DOSE! Shame on whoever is trying to profit off people's tragedies. this needs urgent attention. Who do we hold accountable? This is so frustrating,” wrote Kusha Kapila.

Swara Bhasker, meanwhile, replied to a tweet mentioning that there are no ventilators in Delhi for second straight night. The social media user wrote about there being a ‘waiting list’ of hundreds of patients. Swara was horrified at this and she tweeted, “NO VENTILATORS in India's capital. #COVID19India.”

Meanwhile, yesterday, stand-up comedian Prashasti Singh, whose mom has been hospitalized due to COVID-19, wrote a heart-wrenching post describing the horror and state of panic at the hospital. Read more about it here.
